Overview

Located along Brgy. 1 Roxas St in San Miguel, Iloilo, Kandingan Sa Hi-Way offers a culinary journey centered around authentic goat dishes that capture the rich flavors of Filipino heritage. This restaurant stands out for its hearty specialties such as kaldereta and papaitan, both of which showcase the depth and complexity of Ilonggo cuisine through tender goat meat simmered in savory sauces.

The space itself is clean and inviting, providing a relaxed atmosphere that complements the robust flavors on the plate. Whether you're passing through the highway to San Miguel or exploring the nearby towns of Alimodian and Leon, this spot serves as a perfect pit stop for those craving genuine regional fare. The ambience, as noted by several patrons, balances warmth with comfort, making it suitable for families, solo diners, and small groups who appreciate a no-frills dining experience focused on quality and authenticity.

The menu highlights do not just stop at kaldereta and papaitan. The goat adobo stands out as a special mention, praised for its tender, flavorful preparation. Complementing these are well-executed side options like lumpia, which add a pleasing textural contrast. For those seeking a refreshing drink, coconut water is available, though it may occasionally run out due to popularity among diners.

Service here is attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience without unnecessary fuss. While some guests mention that portions tend toward the modest side relative to price, the general consensus remains that the quality and unique flavors justify the visit.

In summary, Kandising Sa Hi-Way is an excellent destination for enthusiasts of Filipino goat dishes. Its strategic highway location, combined with a focused menu and a welcoming setting, makes it a noteworthy stop for anyone seeking authentic local tastes in Iloilo.

Tasty goat dishes (g0at adobo special). The lumpia (spring roll) is also good. They sell coconut water also, but sometimes are out of stock.
